About

General

Tasca da Esquina is Chef Vítor Sobral's contemporary take on the Portuguese tasca: familiar in spirit, more polished in execution, and built for sharing food around the table. Its own story says the first Esquina was born in Campo de Ourique, with the idea that a whole country could fit into one corner.

The result is a restaurant that honors national gastronomy while giving it room to move. It is useful for a planned lunch, a relaxed dinner, a table of friends, or anyone who wants Portuguese flavors with more creativity than a classic neighborhood tavern, while still keeping the welcome warm and easygoing.

Cuisine

The kitchen is Portuguese at heart, with recipes tied to tradition but seasoned with contemporary technique and Lusophone influences. Public menus and listings point to dishes such as cod with potato and egg, tuna tartare with mango and pistachio, marinated fish, octopus, scallops, veal steak, shrimp curry, tasting-menu options, and desserts like pão de ló.

That range makes the menu flexible: you can build a meal around small plates and sharing, go for a fuller main course, or explore the wine and bar side alongside the food. The cooking is not about novelty for its own sake; it is Portuguese comfort and memory handled with a chef's eye.

Experience

The experience is centered on sharing and conviviality rather than formality. The setting is described as cozy, casual, trendy, and sometimes romantic, with outdoor seating, table service, cocktails, wine, small plates, and a strong reservation culture for both lunch and dinner.

It suits people who like to order across the table, compare dishes, and let the meal unfold in courses. The room has enough polish for a date or a special dinner, but the underlying mood is still social and generous, closer to a modern Portuguese gathering than a stiff fine-dining ritual, with enough flexibility for families, groups, and visitors.

Lima Ceviche Bar

Lima Ceviche Bar is a Peruvian restaurant in Campo de Ourique with ceviche at the centre and a drinks list that gives pisco proper room. The menu is arranged around ceviches and causas, the potato-based Peruvian dish, with soups, hot plates and fried dishes extending the meal beyond the cold counter. It is a focused way into Peruvian cooking rather than a catch-all Latin American menu. For a table of different appetites, the format makes it easy to start with a ceviche or causa and then move to something warmer.

Cantinho d'Ourique

Cantinho d'Ourique is a Portuguese restaurant on Rua Francisco Metrass, serving a broad selection of familiar national dishes in Campo de Ourique. The kitchen covers fish and meat, with cod, octopus, steak, and a house hamburger among the dishes associated with the menu. It is a sit-down restaurant first, while outdoor seating, takeaway, and delivery add other ways to use it. Rather than following a single regional specialty or a chef-led concept, the offer stays close to well-known Portuguese cooking. That makes the menu straightforward to navigate when a table has different preferences: choose a classic fish dish, a meat plate, or one of the simpler options, and leave the address and opening times to the practical details.
