About

General

Nuvola is a contemporary pizzeria in Campo de Ourique, opened in January 2025 in a fully renovated former brunch space. The project comes from Joao Morgado, Antonio Dannemann and Thierry Gressier, who wanted a relaxed Italian place where the pizza matters, but where a glass of wine can be just as much part of the evening. The result is small, focused and clearly built for dinner rather than all-day service.

The concept is built around a slow-fermented dough made with an Italian flour blend and omega-3-rich seeds, giving the crust a lighter feel and a distinctive texture. The menu mixes familiar Italian references with more personal combinations, from Margherita, Diavola and Nduja to mortadella with pistachio, ratatouille, goat cheese with Rocha pear, and truffle with mushrooms and lemon zest. It is a good fit for a casual dinner, a planned booking, or an easy night out centered on pizza and Portuguese wine.

Cuisine

The kitchen stays close to the pizzeria format, but gives the menu enough range for different moods. Starters include house focaccia, tomato bruschetta, garlic-and-cheese bread and burrata with roasted cherry tomatoes, pesto and toasted pine nuts. Pizzas are the main event, with San Marzano tomato, fior di latte, stracciatella, cured meats, vegetables and Italian cheeses used across the list. Vegetarian and vegan choices are part of the offer, so the table does not have to split around one style of pizza.

There are classic choices for anyone who wants something familiar, alongside combinations that feel more playful without becoming fussy. The goat cheese and pear pizza brings Rocha pear, honey, caramelized walnuts and thyme; the ratatouille leans into vegetables; and the truffle option pairs black truffle with mushrooms, cream and lemon zest. A small supporting cast of lasagna, green salad, tiramisu, chocolate mousse, cannoli and gelato keeps the meal flexible, while the drinks list covers spritzes, Portuguese wines, Italian beer and simple soft drinks.

Atmosphere

The room is compact, warm and easy to settle into, with around two dozen seats, large windows, wood details and a deep green ceiling. It feels more like a neighborhood pizzeria with a polished eye than a formal Italian restaurant, which suits the menu well: comfortable enough for a spontaneous dinner, but considered enough for a booked evening with friends. The renovation kept the room bright while giving it a calmer, more intimate dinner feel, and the small scale keeps the energy close to the table.

Service is built around dinner hours and reservations are useful, especially because the space is small. The mood works for sharing a few starters, ordering different pizzas for the table and staying for dessert or another glass of wine. Nuvola also makes sense for diners who care about dough and ingredients, but still want the meal to feel casual, social and uncomplicated rather than ceremonial.
